ABOUT ME

she / her / hers

Hello, Casey here.

I design and lead in-person experiences that build community and invite curiosity.

I facilitate accessible and experiential learning opportunities for youth and adults.

I create content that offers deeper insight into the stories of people and places.

I believe that a well designed experience can create memories that last a lifetime.

In my career, I have coaxed beginner rock climbers up cliffs in National Parks, guided planetarium visitors through the wonders of the universe, uncovered hidden delights in San Francisco’s many museums, shared stories about obscure history from coast to coast, and can direct you to the best tiramisu, truffle, tipple etc in all of SF.

For fun, I read books, I get outside, and I travel. Annually, I read 200+ books. I walk or hike 100+ miles a month. And I use my passport on a regular basis. So far, I’ve laid my head in all 50 US states, planted my feet in 50 different countries, and set my eyes on all Seven Wonders of the World.

Do you have advice about what to read, hike or visit next? If so, do get in touch.

TESTIMONIALS

“Not only was it great team building for our staff, but it really helped us look at our exhibits, programming, and collections in a whole new way. We’re already generating ideas and can’t wait to implement them. The great thing is we feel like we can actually put what we learned into practice, despite our already busy schedules, small staff, and tight budget. We walked away [from this training] with energy and inspiration. It was very refreshing.”

"A great tour  - make sure to sign up for a Casey-led trip. She's a walking encyclopedia of art and history, and finds little ways to make each tour stop fun and engaging. I lived blocks from the de Young for five years without knowing the first thing about it, and now I feel like a pro! Highly recommended."

"Casey, our tour guide, was the perfect host.  She clearly loves her job - cheery, welcoming, knowledgeable.  She seamlessly blended aspects of the Mission District history with the 5 different food stops, showing off the diversity of the Mission, which is what makes it great!  I am not only a native Californian, but also a native Bay Area resident, and I learned so much, ate so much, and just had a wonderful time through a very quick 3 hours, thanks to Casey's able guidance."

“[The experience] all mapped back to us. They had chosen these stories because of who we are as a company. That was really fantastic. It wasn’t just because it was interesting – it made it personal. It made it beyond a cool experience and into something that really mattered to our employees.”

"I have lived in the Bay Area for over ten years and lived near where the tour took place for 6 of those years. Casey (a extremely gifted storyteller and natural guide) impressed me with her breadth of knowledge of the history of Chinatown and it's culture. I came into it expecting to know most of what we would learn that day but it blew me away by just how much I learned on the tour. Casey has done her homework and presents an astounding amount of information in a engaging and fun manner."

"As soon as [she] was done on stage, I wanted to rewind it and watch it again. Beautifully researched and written, and delivered with enthusiastic, authentic panache. The woman in front of me was so moved that she alternately thrust her arms in the air and curled herself into a rocking ball, writhing in truth. It was amazing."
